A stained glass applique pattern with a difference! This pattern includes instructions for an inlaid or reverse applique technique using machine applique and machine quilting. Also can be done using bias binding applique techniques or traditional hand applique.The source for this design is a small motif in a Cross-carpet page of the Book of Durrow, a 7th century Irish Gospel book. Gold on red always works well, but don’t limit your color choices to this combination. Think of other "materials" that a Cross may be made from – like stone or another metal – and then consider what other background colours will make your Cross sing out.
